SOMOS was founded by Mauricio and Javier Real, brothers with a deep passion for electrical engineering and leadership. Born and raised in Ecuador, both Mauricio and Javier moved to the United States in 2001 to pursue the American Dream. They each hold bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering from both Ecuador and the U.S., as well as master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the U.S. Mauricio is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Throughout their careers, both have held key leadership roles, including Director of Electrical Departments at their previous consulting firms. They have also led some of the largest engineering projects in the history of those firms, demonstrating their ability to manage complex, high-stakes projects from start to finish.

Having successfully worked together in both manufacturing and consulting, they’ve built a strong foundation in power system design, optimization, and compliance. Their shared vision for SOMOS is not only to deliver top-notch engineering solutions but also to develop future leaders who can continue to drive the industry forward.Mauricio and Javier both live in Vancouver, WA where they enjoy life with their families. Together, they are committed to transforming the industry by offering both exceptional engineering services and mentorship to the next generation of engineers.
